Thanks for persevering.
I've begun taking a look at using genparse again,
now that you've addressed many of our concerns.
FYI, I tried the latest genparse tarball and was dismayed to see that its
"make install" tried to clobber the primary versions of ls, mv, uname,
tail, wc in my personal (--prefix-specified) bin directory. I suggest
that you change genparse's "make install" rule not to install the demo
versions of tools from its examples/ directory.
