Problem with wc

[Pat Robinson]

cat foo | wc -l 

 

works the first time but will hang on subsequent attempts (foo is a
ordinary text file).

 

cat foo | more 

 

works fine time after time

 

I'm running 6.9 coreutils on Windows XP x64
