Thanks for the report.
That bug was fixed some time ago.
coreutils-5.2.1 is over 3(!) years old.
Certainly not something you should build from source and _use_.
It's great if you are willing to run "check-root" tests,
but please do it only with the latest release.
The latest stable release is here:
