Coreutils testsuite failures

Every now and then the tail-2/assert and tail-2/assert-2 tests fail.  Here
is an example for a failure of the first one:

FAIL: assert

The assert-2 failure looks similar, but I don't have a full log any more.
It looks like the tests have serious race conditions.
