Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 (Windows/20060909) |
getargs.c currently has
fputs (_("\
Report bugs to <" PACKAGE_BUGREPORT ">.\n"), stdout);
in usage() (before the address was hardcoded in the message).
This means only "Report bugs to <" is localizable.
I would suggest changing this to
fprintf (stdout, _("\
Report bugs to <%s>.\n"), PACKAGE_BUGREPORT);
making the entire sentence localizable.
Two main reasons:
- I normally translate this type of message with the equivalent of
"Report bugs to <package-bugs>.\n
Report translation errors to <i18n-list>.\n"
and I'd prefer to keep the package bugs line as the first one. This
is mainly cosmetic though.
- I'm sure there are languages where normal sentence structure dictates
the email address comes before the verb etc (Japanese comes to mind,
but I'm sure there are others), but the current message offers no way
to provide such a translation cleanly.
