   Thanks for the history lesson (for those of us who were too lazy to
goog it ;-)). 

Still, on what OS has it shown the most growth or popularity?
Has there been any other shell that's seen as much use on linux as bash? 
While I had worked on other unix systems (sun, hp, sgi that I remember), I
didn't encounter bash until I saw it on linux.  Before that, I mostly
used ksh as having some "comfort"s over 'sh'. 

   91 was also the year Unicode was first approved (Oct).  Isn't that
an slightly interesting coincidence? :-)
