It seams that "cd [/]{1,}" should take you to the root node. (as showed up
by 'ls')
But when we try with two "/" something goes wrong:
ls works as to be in the root node,
pwd report "//" as path instead of "/"
the bash line report "//" as path too
How to reproduce:
user@pc:/home/user$ cd /
user@pc:/$ pwd
/
user@pc:/$ ls
bin dev home lib lost+found mnt proc run selinux sys
usr vmlinuz
boot etc initrd.img lib64 media opt root sbin srv tmp var
user@pc:/home/user$ cd //
user@pc://$ pwd
//
user@pc://$ ls
bin dev home lib lost+found mnt proc run selinux sys
usr vmlinuz
boot etc initrd.img lib64 media opt root sbin srv tmp var
user@pc:/home/user$ cd ///
user@pc:/$ pwd
/
user@pc:/$ ls
bin dev home lib lost+found mnt proc run selinux sys
usr vmlinuz
boot etc initrd.img lib64 media opt root sbin srv tmp var
Confirmed on:
- Debian 7
GNU bash, version 4.2.37(1)-release (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu)
- Fedora 19
GNU bash, version 4.2.45(1)-release (x86_64-redheat-linux-gnu)
- [BUG] directory tree error (probably),
