GNU emacs has
M-left backward-word
M-right forward-word
however in bash 2.04 ESC right-arrow wants to display all 1204
possibilities etc. I suppose this is due to technical difficulty of
ESC ESC being already bound, as that is what is first seen. So there
might be nothing than can be done short of unbinding ESC ESC first.
I was unable to test ALT right-arrow as my set-up apparently doesn't
pass it thru.
[By the way, in GNU emacs they forgot to bind ESC left and ESC right.
