My recollection is that the gcc maintainers already decided not to
have g++ add the appropriate -rpath option. This came up for gcj,
too. I don't recall the reasons. Unfortunately it means that you
have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH or something like that if you want a
g++/gcj installed in a not-visible-to-ld.so location to work.
