Thanks for asking.  I've just made a new hello pre-release (down at the
moment?):

    http://www.franken.de/users/gnu/ke/hello/hello-1.3.32.tar.gz

At the moment www.franken.de seems to be down; please try:

    http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/%7Eeichwalk/hello-1.3.32.tar.gz

There I've to add config.h.in to EXTRA_DIST in hello-1.3.32/Makefile.am
since automake(?) forgets to add it to DIST_COMMON and ./configure
complains in the end:

configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
[...]
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: error: cannot find input file: config.h.in
