Thanks. So the macro is really written like this :)
Unbalanced quotes are (roughly) impossible to cope with. 2.50 introduces
@%<@ and @:>@ as M4 inactive means to mean [ and ] (BTW, I think I used
@%:@ in my configure.ac, which means # not ]).
For older Autoconves, you have to keep the balance somehow.
