Subject: [Bino-list] Bino general question: can I use Bino with computer X and projector/display Y ?

Hi Sebastien,

It really depends on two things:
a- The projector/display specs, and what it expects as "3D" input.
it can be any combination of side-by-side, HDMI 1.4a frame packed, above-below,
checkerboard, alternated VGA, alternated HDMI... Just read the documentation
for your projector.

b- The computer and graphics card specs, and whether or not it can output these
modes.
HDMI1.4a frame packed is a special thing, and can usually be triggered by
setting the graphics card resolution to 1920x2205p or 1280x1470p. Sometimes,
this requires setting a custom resolution on your display driver. You can
usually find that kind of information on 3D gaming forums, such as
http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=10072
Alternated modes can usually be obtained either using either OpenGL quad-buffer
or alternating modes, see http://bino3d.org/doc/bino.html#Output-Techniques for
a list of supported output modes in Bino.

Unfortunately, we can't answer this kind of question, as there are too many
projectors and displays to test Bino with.
However, if you have a configuration that works, please report it (on the
bino-list?), and we will gladly add this combination and the settings you used
to the list of "known-to-work" combinations on the Bino web site.

The report could be:
- computer make/model/year
- graphics card or graphics chipset
- operating system
- display settings on the computer (resolution and other settings)
- link between the computer and the display (HDMI, VGA, other)
- display or projector make/model/year

Martin, could we add this FAQ on the Bino web site, maybe with your
modifications ?

Best regards,
Frederic
