The answer is yes, bino can send out stereoscopic (or monoscopic) video using 
these expensive cards.
The people at Binocle contributed it, and it is being used to simulate live 
stereo video for their stereo monitoring hardware (called DisparityTagger).
We thought it may be helpful for other people too.
It currently only works on linux, but should be adaptable to windows with 
little work (the API to configure the card is different).

It would be nice to have similar work done to output on the Blackmagic products 
(Ultrastidio 3D or Decklink HD Extreme), although the fact that rendering on 
those cards is not done in OpenGL may pose a problem.
