Just to get an idea of the struggles that boot causes during the
system bootstrapping mode look at the bottom of
src/interp/setvars.boot.pamphlet

Notice that this is one of several files that contains the compiled
lisp code because the translation of this file is needed before the
boot compiler can run.

Note that this is not a recent change.
