Camm,

It appears that you can't open a socket to the terminal.
There are three things that might be a problem.

1) did you try to run this in a terminal that can't open sockets
   (whatever that means). i've run into this message when i tried
   to run axiom remotely and the socket wouldn't open. are you
   running it on a local box?

2) this is a clef (command line editor function) problem, not an
   sman problem. so try:

sman -noclef

   and see if that cures it.

3) try running it as root. perhaps you don't have socket permissions.
