You seem to have misunderstood my comment.

Carlos's library is fully adequate for its purpose and has been used for that
purpose by several users months or even years before it has been accepted in
1.7.0; the problem is that it is incorrectly compiled within avr-libc.

My comment thus describes an identical problem to
