I'm not all that excited about that API. It's very close to the
not-really-famous old avr/timer.h API, in that it adds an additional
API to rather simple register-level access operations.
That doesn't mean I'm completely opposed to it, but I don't see much
advantage in it either. If the next-generation AVR will add more and
different power handling options, you're going to extend that API
again and again...
