I've been compiling for it with WinAVR & GCC on Linux for years, so I'd say
it works ok provided you've built your tools correctly (or use precompiled).

Hi Jason,
Yes, we're familiar with the ATmega128RFA1. IIRC, patches are available.
Have you checked to see if it's supported in the Atmel Toolchain?
