thanks a lot; Ok the problem is simple and made a fool of me

when using the Insight and simulavr  the following method is to be followed

1. open the xxxx.elf file
2. At the Console type >Target Remote :1212 ( Hi u have to get the Simulavr 
running first by >Simulavr -d atXXXXXXX -g
3. type > load xxxx.elf
4. step through the code

Hope this help a newbie

BTW at which url more details on how to use the GDB can be found; basic step 
control and inputting info via the simulavr,
