No, since nobody ever wrote the code for it.

Upgrading the STK500's firmware is easy assuming you've got access to
a plain hex file, or are able to convert the .ebn file into hex.

I can up- and downgrade my old STK500 between V1 and V2 without any
problems.  When you power on the STK500 with the "program" button
pressed, it turns into an AVR910 programmer with 19200 Bd, with the
AT90S8535/ATmega8535 as the only possible target controller.

You should *not* attempt to muck around with the 8535's fuses.  If you
manage to disable its crystal clock, you'll also kill the clock of the
AT90S1200/ATtiny2313, which will effectively turn it off.
