Sure.  I think the addition of AM_LIBADD/tgt_LIBADD and
AM_LDADD/tgt_LDADD is a good idea.

Want to propose a patch?  Or rather wait until I have more time for
Automake again?  Maybe you have a way to ping Alexandre...
