The GCC-based UPC compiler needed it under the default configuration, but I
can't explain why. Perhaps I misconfigured it?
The Berkeley UPC compiler does not need -lm. Hooray, Berkeley.
I haven't tested others.
Thank you very much for your help and advice. I'm trying to get my
UPC-using colleagues to use Autoconf and Automake instead of
internally-maintained Makefiles, and this new patch will definitely make my
case for Autoconfiscation stronger.
