Nope.  And this isn't the kind of change we would make in 1.6.2.  For
1.7, though, it is a possibility.


I understand.


Alexandre, what do you think about checking in the "ugly" patch for
1.6.2?  It does definitely fix a bug.  I'm inclined to put it in with
a big FIXME comment, and maybe an associated PR.


I'm not really TRYING to be a pest...it just comes naturally...
