Yes, you're right: 'configure' does this:
CXXFLAGS="-D__int64=\"long long\""
g++ $CXXFLAGS ...
(because you told it to), and this is equivalent to:
g++ "-D__int64=\"long" "long\"" ...
because that's how the shell works. For this particular
example, the splitting isn't what you want, but for
other examples it is, and I'm afraid that it's unlikely that
Autoconf would change its behavior in this area.
