Detection of libmysqlclient and autoconf 2.59

Hi,

I'm currently using a custom macro to try to detect libmysqlclient and
its required header files. This work with autoconf2.13. However, I'd
like to use autoconf 2.59, but I fail to make it work.

The macro I'm using :

My configure.in :

Are there others (cleaner?) ways to detect such libraries ? How can I
fix my macro ?
