 Sorry, you're perfectly right and this was indeed the problem. I just
completely failed to see this on my own although I spent a long time trying
to find what was I doing wrong as I was pretty sure that such an often used
macro should work...

 I'll try to propose a patch adding this enhancement as a form of
compensation for my stupid question. It will have to wait until I get back
from my current trip though as I have no Internet connection to speak of
right now.
