so, I did as you said, but the customizing panes were a bit intimidating, but I

I tried the same thing with Preview as my pdf viewer, and now when I press C-c
C-v, it works!
However, two problems remain:

1. first and foremost, the figures won't show: I mean, there is only the
caption, but no figure. I must add that my graphics are .pdf files and that I
use pdflatex.

2. I cannot preview some part of my work now. I used to be able to, but it does
not work anymore. Maybe this is unrelated, since I might have changed other
settings somewhere else...
