Sorry, Uwe, yes, your are totally right, but the trouble I have with AUCTeX 
11.55 was not from your installation guide.

Thank you very much for your installation guide, it is certainly quite 
perfect and has given me the chance to try it with a new Emacs and a new 
AUCTeX.

Your installation guide is that perfect because it puts all necessary tools 
on one place. Thank you for this work and thank you for your other very 
useful hints on your homepage.
